The lady was nice over the phone and when I walked in place was very clean. The deserts look so nice and one with the red "red coconut cake" so good you can eat two. The pholourie are smaller then usual back in the day they looked like dumpling iykyk, they are bite size which are still devious and worth the price. Ali’s Roti Shop on White Plains Road is a solid Trinidadian Caribbean spot that really hits the mark. They have a great selection of doubles you can go with the regular chickpea version or add saltfish, shrimp, or chicken depending on what you’re in the mood for. The flavors are very good and taste authentic, just like proper Trinidad food should. Another big plus is how fast the food comes out, even when they’re busy. Definitely a go to spot in the Bronx when you’re craving doubles.
I absolutely love this place. I love Ali's so much that I travel from Connecticut all the way back to the Bronx to enjoy there food. I have enjoyed their boneless chicken roti for years. But now since they moved to their new location, they have added some delicious new options. I never had Doubles so good. Now the add chicken, or beef, or shrimp, you name it they probably add it.
