We had a great Mother’s Day brunch at AlMar with my family. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A perfect spot for a special family meal—we’ll definitely be back!
I'd go for the cute Christmas decor, rustic architecture, and prime location in DUMBO, but the food was just okay. We ordered (a) spaghetti and meat balls $16, which was a little bland (b) Half Panini & Half Salad Lunch Special $22 USD. The portions are small to moderate, as it is a lunch menu, so we had a second lunch 30 minutes afterwards. But the service was friendly and they had a cozy decorations, which was fun for photos!
The place has a nice atmosphere, but the food is definitely not the best you’ll find in the area. We ordered the white ragu pasta and the branzino. Unfortunately, the fish was full of bones, and the side salad was just some basic lettuce and tomato—nothing special at all. For the price they charge, the quality just isn't there. It was honestly pretty mediocre. I wouldn’t go back.
