I am writing this review because of a deeply upsetting and unacceptable experience I had at the JCC when I went in to ask about enrolling my child in sports activities. I approached the front desk expecting basic information about programs, passes, or memberships. The receptionist I spoke with was an elderly woman, likely in her late 70s, with a very distinctive facial injury that made her easy to identify. Too old to be a receptionist. Terrible experience. A few days ago I went inside and an old lady at the desk started by roughly asking “what do you want?” I told her I was interested in a membership. She said membership was not available at the moment because of a tour. But the way she said it she sounded angry AT ME. I said I didn’t have much time then she proceeded to tell me “then this place isn’t for you. You can get out”. First of all who is this lady?! Most of the time the staff are looking down at their phones. I am never greeted at the front desk or when I walk into the gym. Does the staff realize where their paychecks come from? As a paying customer, I expect to be greeted when walking in or even a nod would be ok. They seem miserable.
