Big Al’s is one of the few authentic soul food spots on the Island. I ordered through Uber Eats, and the pickup process was smooth for the courier. The food was packed well and showed up still very hot. The ribs were super tender and fell right off the bone. They had this good mix of barbecue and peppery flavor. Big Al and Ms. Gale are the sweetest people in the world. They are like family, the uncle and auntie at the cookout. Food was great not overly salted tasted wonderful good home cooking. It's just them two, everything made fresh when ordered so be patient but well worth it. Well priced won't kill the pocket. Absolutely amazing experience small local spot. It was my first time there and will be back again. Left them a small $20 tip to say thank you.
I've been living in this area for over 20 years and I just recently started frequenting here. I order the fried chicken breast with mac & cheese and potato salad. It's heaven on earth. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of the food.
