Small pizza shop with limited seating. Cool, old- school vibe. We got the New Haven-ish pizza. It was described as a double ladle sauce, “lots” of pecorino, chili flakes and black pepper. Great crust but it was an honest to god sauce dumped on good pizza crust. We asked the female employee at the front if it had any cheese on it and she said it was under the sauce. LEGENDARY flavor, ingredients, love, and excellence in this pizza. This is some of the most delicious and well crafted pizza on the planet. Nuff said. The sauce is bonkers. If you love sauce, then it's extraordinary here. So juicy. The cheese smacks. The crust is crispy and light. There's a touch in this pizza that calls me back for more. Its in the olive oil and the sauce for me. It all comes together in an cravable way. Bravo.
I visited Chrissy’s Pizza, and while everyone has their own pizza preferences, here’s what makes this one stand out. If you’re near McCarren or McGolrick Park—or around Nassau Ave—it’s an easy yes. Even if you’re not, it’s worth the trip. Service is friendly but efficient, focused on getting pies out quickly. The space is small, so you might be standing shoulder to shoulder—but eating the pizza fresh out of the oven right there is part of the experience. Otherwise, take it to the park nearby.
