I ordered the beans and beef stew. The beans actually had a very good flavor, but they were mostly liquid, so it felt more like soup than a side of beans. The beef stew also had decent flavor, but the meat was a little dry and tough, not as tender as I expected for stew. Overall, the taste was not bad, but the texture and portion balance could be better. I might give it another try, but I hope the beans come with more actual beans and the beef is cooked more tender next time
It’s a small restaurant in downtown Brooklyn. The food is delicious, some of the best Dominican food I’ve ever heard overall. Alcapurria 1/5. I wouldn’t get this again. I did not like it at all. Pastelitos 5/5, delicious patties. I ordered one with cheese, but it was missing. The beef and chicken were very good, not too greasy. Sancocho 5/5. The root vegetables were a bit starchy but it was a nice addition in this soup. I very so much liked it. Very flavorful and the chicken was tender. Rab
(Trigger warning) - evidence shown in photos!!!! My partner and I went out to eat at Cibao in downtown Brooklyn, on completion of our meal- I found a shard in his food. We told them and they said it was from a “garlic seasoning bottle” then apologized. No compensation was given but we let it slide and accepted the apology. Next thing you know hours later- we both wake up with food poisoning and our stomach was in unimaginable pain.
