Cozy outpost of a local counter-serve bakery/cafe chain with panini, sweet treats & lots of muffins.

Connecticut Muffin is a good spot whenever I’m in the neighborhood. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming — perfect for a solo coffee break or catching up with a friend. Their muffins are truly the star of the show (the banana chocolate chip is a personal favorite), but everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty.
The breakfast burrito only contains scrambled eggs, American cheese, and a spicy mayo. No variation of potatoes, bell peppers, or bacon/breakfast sausage. It was disappointing to say the least. I thought I would treat myself to something nice, but I would’ve been way better off ordering something at the various delis on Cortelyou.
The best thing about this Connecticut Muffin is the friendly and professional staff - they rock. You can have a coffee good pasties and work all day. They have pastries and French roast coffee, when fresh is the best in the hood and bitter when it is not fresh. The one issue I have is that it seems to me they changed the recipe for their everything croissant. It used to be my favorite item. The spices blended well, crunchy, soft and buttery. Now, it appears to be too salty and just not the same
