Don’t sleep on this terrific neighborhood Italian diner in an off the beaten track location in Sugar Hill. The eponymous Crispin is a highly skilled chef who is always present and his consistency and attention to detail shine. He relocated this concept from Hell’s Kitchen to his childhood neighborhood and his commitment to the area is admirable. We have been a number of time for dinner. My girlfriend and I came here late night around 11:30pm after a Nets game at the Barclays. On Google it says they closed at 3AM. When we walked in the hostess told us they were closed but the manger welcomed us in and reassured us that their kitchen was still open thankfully. We were given wonderful bread along with some tomatoes and olive oil. We ordered the truffle French fries which was very good. Not salty just the perfect texture. Please make your next night out at Crispin's. I came here on a Friday night on a fluke because it was raining and got sangria to pass the storm. It quickly turned into wine, free bread, and the best pappardelle bolognese I've had (and priced so well at $18 for fresh pasta). The owner was so great, and I genuinely hope his business succeeds as much as he was so nice to me. Definitely worth a visit!
