Updated Review!! Diamond Slice has received plenty of buzz since opening in Greenpoint, and the space earns it. Situated right at the intersection of Diamond Street, the dining room takes on an almost pentagon-like shape once you’re inside, a unique layout that matches the energy of the corner it sits on. The décor is cool, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere delivers. But we come for the pizza. On my first visit, I ordered the classic slice as a baseline. The tomato sauce was excellent
Diamond Slice is like that old school, local pizza shop everybody knew and loved, but transported to the modern day with all of us. The owner is a wonderful ma who grew up right here, and the whole crew is always a delight. The pizzas are stunning, I highly recommend trying the Elote or the French Onion slices. Their classic icons like Pepperoni and Cheese are also to die for. The dough is always perfect and the cheese has that iconic stretch.
Tried this place for the first time today with four friends. I loved the tomato slice I got. The people I was with also really liked the Sicilian slice. However, the specialty slices they got were not great. The French Onion slice was gloopy and too dense and the Elote slice they said just tasted kind of weird and didn’t really work in execution. So I would 100 percent recommend this place with the caveat that the usual suspects are much better than the experimental slices.
