Island-themed counter-serve chain offering Jamaican beef patties, jerk chicken & curry dishes.
From Google Maps reviews.
Sad to say the new owners are absolutely NOT Jamaican and know nothing about us. Clearly this is a business they purchased and that’s it. Ordered the simplest thing, jerk chicken, rice and peas with oxtail gravy. Everything tasted like barbecue sauce. This is the final chance I’m giving them. Last time, I ordered curry goat and the color was off. It was a grayish, brown, and green and tasted like garbage. Keep Jamaican food Jamaican. Zero stars.
Stopped by last night to get curry goat and as a Jamaican I can say it’s the worst I have had the meat under seasoned and undercooked cut up in large chunks like they are feeding people in parts of the world who has never eaten food. Do not recommend eating here. We lost the real authentic Jamaican cuisine and culture here.
"The absolute go-to spot for authentic Jamaican food in Queens! The oxtail is incredibly tender, and the jerk chicken has that perfect smoky, spicy kick. Portions are generous, the prices are extremely fair, and you can always count on a fresh, flaky beef patty with coco bread. Highly recommend!"
