Came here years ago and this spot still retained the nice atmosphere. Enjoyed seeing local residents visit and recommend reserving just in case. They have an updated menu based on their specials which always a nice touch. I took away a few food stars since the food quality/quantity was a bit lacking from what I remembered. Perfection! Super ecstatic that we discovered this gem in Astoria. The quality of the food here is exceptional and the prices are decent for what you’re receiving. The chef is Japanese, as well as the staff, so expect the food to be authentic and everything from hygiene to service to be top-notch! Husband and I stumbled on this spot on our way to the Noguchi Museum. Our teishoku's -- set meals -- were excellent! Reminded us of small, personable neighborhood restaurants in Tokyo where food is prepared with great care. The food was excellent -- fresh fish, miso soup made with real dashi stock, seasonal cold tofu, pickles and salad. I had the grilled mackerel while my husband had sashimi. The mackerel was nice and fatty, cooked just right. The teishoku is a bargain at $20 per person. I wish
