Molasses is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a neighborhood secret. I stopped in on a Sunday around five (Thanksgiving weekend) and it was buzzing. It’s small enough that ten people make it feel lively but its cozy atmosphere part of what makes it so inviting. Peaceful used bookstore cafe with an excellent collection of great titles, especially for a relatively compact space. Selection compares to Unnameable Books in Prospect Heights. Studious crowd of hipster types. Dedicated if somewhat laconic service. Fun, pleasing atmosphere for the book-lover.
Okay yes I fell in love with this place the moment i walked in. A bookstore a cafe AND a bar?? Every queer’s dream. I loved the collection of radical books they have 🫦 the music is excellent and the space is so dreamy. IN LOVE. PERIOD
