The dough is so good at Nonna's! The pizza crust is thin, crispy, and savory. The toppings and sauce are exactly the right amounts. They're fast. The zeppole are fried to order and they are pillowy, lightly crisp on the outside, with a slight chew, and they arrive buried in powdered sugar. One of NYC's best pizzerias!
I trekked from West Brighton—where pizza dreams are lost in cookie shops and bar food—because Nonna’s has always gotten a lot of chatter, and I just hadn’t made it out there—but today, I was lucky I did. I don’t mind traveling for quality, and Nonna’s delivered: crisp, charred slices with great sauce and cheese—no gimmicks, just a top-notch slice. Compared to what I’ve had on Staten Island lately, this was a standout. And the ultimate benchmark when you walk into a new pizzeria? You go with two
Came here since I saw a one bite review. Unfortunately, I was very unimpressed with my two plain slices. It wasn't until I saw another review that perhaps it's their style to burn the underside of the pizza. When you do the "fold" at the crust, it just breaks apart like crackers. Each bite is "crispy" but it's literally crispy like a potatoe chip. To each their own but def not a 7.7 that Dave rated.
