If you’ve been around Dumbo before, you know that restaurants will charge an arm and a leg for the same dish half the price elsewhere. Not the case here! The food here was really authentic and flavorful, the walls were just covered with notes from visitors all over the world, and the service was incredibly fast considering there were about 2 servers and maybe one guy in the kitchen. Food was great, but terrible service. Waited about 15 by the door before being acknowledged, despite server walking past us several times. I dont expect to be seated right away, however a simple "welcome", "I'll be right with you", would've went a long way. I went with my 3 year old son on mother's day and it wasn't too busy, I stayed because I had been wanting to return to this place after years of not coming back since the pandemic. It's just not what it use to be!
I used to come here about 12yrs ago. Clearly the owners are different. I came today with my mom and friend who have also been here in the past. We were expecting the same quality of food but it’s got more of a Tex mex vibe. The lighting and vibe was dark and not welcoming. Food was like “good enough” not great.
