Laid-back, family-friendly Colombian restaurant serving roasted chicken & other classic dishes.
From Google Maps reviews.
A friend was visiting NY and we decided to try something more authentic and go out of Manhattan. After researching a little bit for a Colombian restaurant, Pollos Mario was one of the places with good reviews and interesting menu. It’s unassuming restaurant with good food, very generous portions and cool people. Prices were very decent as well.
Got there late for the breakfast, but had the bandeja tipica ,which is a big platter so enough for 2 or even 3 people . The arepas with cheese were great! And the maracuya water as always on point ! My sister had the milk maracuya and loved it. Chicken empanadas were a bit salty but the sauce helped.
I usually go to the location on 81st street, were I never have any issues. I decided to go to this location because I was in the area. My husband and I ate, it was so good but so much food. We asked for our food to be packed. We got the check, paid and waited for our food. When my husband asked about it our waitress said threw it out and could only say sorry. We both only ate half so between the both of us we had a full meal. The manager was unavailable, we definitely will not come back to this
