If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to stop by—this place was amazing! I’m usually not a big fan of a lot of Dominican restaurants, but this one is a 10/10 recommendation from me. I came here with my family and my boyfriend, and we all really enjoyed our food. I ordered the domi fongo and absolutely loved it—it was definitely a great choice. The only thing I’d mention is the Hennessy sangria. I thought it would be something different, but it honestly tasted more like juice. Not bad, just not
Love this place I’ve been eating from their restaurants since before COVID-19. One Mother’s Day we stood on line 10 hours but we were guaranteed the food and they came through and ever since I’ve been coming to puerta plata. Today I came to the Rockaway location and it is amazing. Bernice my waitress was awesome and I will be back soon. There was billiards and a stage for live music. It is really awesome, beautiful atmosphere and of course the food was 100% AMAZING.
I tried their traditional dishes and everything was spot on. The rice, beans, and tender meats tasted just like a home-cooked Dominican meal. The tortilla plantain with meat was delicious, and the seafood was cooked perfectly.
