I went on MLK, so the place was very crowded. The wait to order was about 20 mins, and the wait doe the food was about 45 mins. The tables were hard to grab given the crowd. I enjoyed my sandwich and the cake. They were good but not special—not worth the crowd or the wait for me. But if I live near by and there is no wait, I would frequent the spot. The place is also charming and cute, but you won’t get to fully enjoy it given the crowd. I would say this is a good local spot but not worth travel
I was surprised by wait line just 20min after opening. The menu is short and simple. The chicky sandwich was really good. I wish I can say the same for tuna melt. It was just meh. I wish I could try their strawberry lemon cake but they were out of it at the moment. It looked amazing.
I came across Salty Lunch Lady’s Little Luncheonette on YouTube one night when I was half awake / half asleep and saved it on my maps for my yearly trip to the city… and I’m so glad I did.
