I generally make it a point to avoid restaurants in hotels - except when I'm in NYC. I've had some is the best meals in hotel restaurants. And Serafina, in the 2nd floor of The Time Hyatt is no exception. I had dinner there last night which was excellent, and then just popped down for a quick breakfast. It was quiet this morning with just a few tables full. Light jazz was playing and the waiter was quck to refill my coffee. I had a fontana and herb omelet that was well prepared. Nice amount of
Service was hit or miss the last two times I've been here but the tables are spaced nicely. On weekends, they offer brunch as well as the regular menu. The pizza's are personal sized, about six slices per pie. Fine for sharing if you are ordering other things. Very thin crust but it's all about the crust! Meatballs are a favorite and I really enjoyed the caccio de pepe. Brussel sprouts are perfectly seasoned and cooked. Mocktails are great, ask for the mint mojito.
The appetisers were not bad but the pasta was garbage- specially the vongole pasta: overcooked spaghetti/ mushy and soggy with few bits of funny tasting vongole. I think this branch puts little effort in the food given the transient nature of their patrons (tourists dining before or after Broadway).
