Amazing place for travellers on a budget! Lobby and bar are clean, staff is kind and accomodating, and the overall process of checking in and out are very easy. In your room, you are provided with a cozy duvet, pillow and a towel, along with a sizeable locker to store your items. The building is old, so i did notice a little mold in the shower room, but it's not a concerning amount in my opinion. I encountered a racist front desk employee during my stay at this hostel — appeared to be in her 30s to 40s, Hispanic, with black hair. I had been visibly present in the lobby/luggage area the entire morning, and the contrast in how she treated me versus other guests was stark. With other guests, she was warm, friendly, and engaged — chatting, smiling, wishing them well. I wanna gatekeep this place but it’s honestly so great I wanna make sure it stays in business. Perfect place to work remote and also a great local sports bar. Had friends from France stay in the hostel and they loved it though it was a bit pricy. It’s very easy to get to Brooklyn or Manhattan from here so I highly recommend this place.
