I finally got a chance to try this Dominican spot and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the mofongo, and it was absolutely incredible. It was perfectly mashed, flavorful, moist, and not dry at all which is so important with mofongo. The seasoning was on point, and you could taste how fresh everything was. Not gonna lie, I’ve been here multiple times and had the complete opposite experience. The pica pollo actually tastes like real Dominican street food, and the chofan is always on point. Maybe it was an off day, but calling it “not Dominican at all” is wild to me. If you know Dominican food, you know this spot is valid.
If it’s your first time trying Dominican food, please try somewhere else. The food doesn’t taste Dominican at all. I was so excited to finally have a Dominican restaurant walking distance from my house; but the excitement did not last. The tostones were oily, very oily , not saggy, they were oily as if oil was added after cooked. The fried chicken was tasteless. It wasn’t like real pica pollo , it was flavorless.
