88 Bakery Cafe in Elmhurst is a solid Asian bakery with a great selection of Chinese baked goods. Everything we tried was very good fresh, soft, and not overly sweet. You can tell the pastries are made with care and meant to be enjoyed with tea or coffee. If you’re in the area and craving traditional Chinese bakery items, this spot is definitely worth a stop.
This is a very budget friendly bakery. They have a huge selection of hot and baked pastries, and desserts. There are a lot of items that are under $3. At the end of the day, the leftover pastries are sold at a discount, so they're even cheaper. I bought one of their Portuguese egg tarts, and although it might not be authentic, it's still delicious. The crust was very flaky and buttery.
