Came here for lunch, and loved it. It’s been a while since I’ve had a comforting and tasty lunch like this. Ordered the tuna poke, soupy rice with salmon, iced lemonade green tea, and an egg sandwich. All simple, clean, and flavorful. You wait in line and she will make the food by each order. The food comes out fairly quickly. I read a sign in there that said the cafe will close early if they’ve sold out. The woman serving the food, who appeared to be either the owner or manager, was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in a restaurant. One item was missing from my order, and when I tried several times to let her know, she completely ignored me. She clearly saw me waiting and knew I had been there first, yet she continued helping other customers before even acknowledging me. When I finally managed to tell her that part of my order was missing, she immediately cut me off and said, “L
Freshly made delicious onigiri and seaweed wraps. I always order three shades of pink: avocado/salmon, avocado/plum, and a hot or cold natural shiso vinegar drink with ginger depending upon the weather, as the little park overlooking Newtown Creek is just steps away for snacking on a bench.
