My bf and I usually stop by here after the gym - really authentic and fresh food that is a mix of dishes from across China. This is a favorite of mine in midtown for suan cai yu (pickled mustard green fish). Every dish, however, isn’t super oily and actually quite delicate given that it’s a bit more high end. Great wine list and solid new beer selection on draft. Andy was great! Super friendly and very helpful!
This place is run by the same group that started mountain house + cheli and it shows. Expansive menu representing many different regions in China, and all of them are very well done. The Peking duck might be one of the best I’ve had in the states, just wish they gave us the soup to go with it. All for a very reasonable price point in midtown New York. Highly recommended!
One of the best meal we have had this trip to NYC. A touch of elegance while still delivering authentic and heavy flavors. We got the salt baked chicken, which came with a show of cracking it open. Which was fun, while the cumin lamb we ordered delivered the rich umami flavor. The braised claypot rice was quite rich and strong in seasoning, and goes well with refreshing pea shoots. Forgot to get dessert which was unfortunate as they look amazing and vibrant. Definitely, one of the top Chines
