I wrote a feature about this place a year and a half ago for the Park Slope reader but I came back for dinner this evening to try out their May Izakaya menu. Love Cafe Mars! The atmosphere inside is as unique and fun as any restaurant you’ll ever find in Brooklyn, but so is their food. And it’s not a gimmick, the food is straight up delicious. The garlic knot monkey bread is craveable and the muffuletta dim sum is one of my favorite apps in NYC. They have a good rotation of pasta and mains, all of which are fun and tasty. Everything was great, and appreciated the friendly service. Highly recommend checking this place out. + Fires of Vesuvius was our favorite cocktail. Strong flavor and great spice level. + Enjoyed the crudo. It was light and fresh, packed with flavor. + Monkey bread seems popular, so I don't have much to add.
