Union Square Hospitality Group restaurants rarely disappoint, and for the most part, this place keeps up that reputation. We ordered the Pizza Bianca, Tuna Tonnato, Escarole, Smoked Carrots, Wood Fired Whole Trout, Chicken Milanese, and Lemon Torta. The absolute highlight was the Wood Fired Whole Trout—perfectly crispy on the outside, and the pickled green mustard inside was a brilliant combination. This restaurant has a beautiful dining room & I love eating there during the day because of the natural light. Each dish was executed well. You can’t go wrong with any of the pastas, but my personal favorites are the tagliatelle and cavatelli (and rigatoni if you like cheese & creamy sauces). Other highlights were the roasted carrots, verdure fritti, and hangar steak. For dessert, the basque cheesecake and gelatos are both creamy & not too sweet. We came here for a family Easter brunch. Heard many good things about this place. And as a Danny Meyer restaurant, I had some pretty high expectations. It’s located in the Hudson Yards area and so it is in the most refreshed area of NYC. When you walk in, you’re faced with an elevator and unmarked stairway going up framed by an archway.
