We were visiting friends on the lower east side and popped out to pick up a few things for brunch. Dimes was their reco and it was a good one. It’s a small, well curated specialty food/grocery store. Fresh veggies, interesting condiments, prepared foods, fresh flowers, and many other treats. The staff is also lovely and helpful. Stop by you won’t regret it!
The greed salad is my favorite in nyc! Don’t let the simple name fool you, the dressing is delicious, comparable to what you would get at an upscale restaurant. The simple combination of greens with frisée is so fresh and well combined. I added salmon this time and it was cooked to perfection. I always eat here as often as I can when in nyc.
Solidly okay, but I definitely recommend calling ahead of time. I came during my lunch break as this is a popular spot among my coworkers, but ended up waiting almost half an hour for my food. A woman who ordered a few minutes after me but was sitting down at the counter ordered the same thing got her meal about 10 mins before me. Decent food, if overpriced. Workers have been generally friendly in my limited experience here, but definitely show favoritism towards regulars & yt folks.
