The bar back helped me find my way to the bathrooms with which are rightfully hidden behind graffiti. This is one of those classic dive bars you love to find, exuding history and kitsch and vintage flourishes mixed with a kind crowd of regulars. The bartender who served us was chummy and garrulous, with an eye on his known clients who came ready to chat about life, sports, and the like. My new favorite bar.... I wish I lived in NY! Our team was working in the park and this place was halfway home. They don't care what you wear and aren't weird about backpacks (we had tools and laptops to take home). Drinks are inexpensive, they have twisted tea (a colleague was searching everywhere for it), a decent wine selection and plenty of standard cocktails and beer. Love love love the decor!
