Lots of racist paraphernalia behind the bar. Honestly kind of shocking to see in a bar in NYC, even in this relatively conservative neighborhood. It’s funny that there’s another review about this bar saying the manager yelled at them for trying to take pictures, because I could have sworn when I was trying to take pictures of these blackface lawn jockeys, one of the bartenders noticed me pointing them out to my friends and tried to walk in front of my camera TWICE, and slammed drinks down on the
Came here with a group of people after an event we were part of. This was my first time in NYC, so I didn't know what to expect. Prices were great! Genuinely made Chicago feel expensive-- I had the french dip and it was really good. Service was decent and the atmosphere was nice. It wasn't too loud either, we actually came at a great time and there was not many other people there, so we were all able to talk amongst ourselves. Will come back if in NYC again!
Local comfortable and friendly pub offering a decent food menu. We enjoyed a very good cobb salad (egg was boiled perfectly!) and the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Attentive and friendly service from the bartender. I can't comment on the night or sports scene, but for a beer and local pub food you can enjoy the warm atmosphere and decent eats!
