Honestly, I want to give EJ’s a bad review so that it’s less crowded and I can wait less time when I go. But this place is amazing and everyone should try it. The matzo ball soup is the best I’ve ever had (other than my grandmother’s of course). I’d consider an act of corporate espionage just for the recipe. EJ’s Luncheonette, a beloved Upper East Side institution since 1992, is the perfect spot to refuel after a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We arrived just in time to snag a table before the crowd rolled in, and I was relieved to find the booths spacious enough for my family. I love EJ’s! I come a few times a month for the best breakfast, brunch, and lunch. We usually try to sit at the counter where we get the best service from Kazi!! He is the best - always so kind and very accommodating. It is always an enjoyable experience coming to EJ’s. My personal favorites on the menu are the turkey club and the matzoh ball soup.
