Casual venue serving pupusas, tamales, seafood soup, and other classic Salvadoran dishes.

Best pupusas in New York! I used to live in Central America and I love pupusas, but I hadn’t found any in NY that tasted exactly the same until I came to El Continental. All the other food is also excellent and the waitresses are really nice. In the summer they open all the windows and it’s like seating outdoors. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in South Slope.
Tasty cheese papusas. Cheesy and hot. I got maduros to mix the savory and sweet together. They were tasty too. They gave me a side of pickled onions with cabbage and everything together tasted really good -Service was fast, food came quick -Large windows to look outside and Spanish music, easy to talk and hear others, great atmosphere
I stopped by for breakfast recently and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The food was hearty and well-prepared, which is exactly what I needed to kick off my morning. The environment felt very friendly and comfortable, making it a great place to sit down for a relaxed meal. While it is a bit of a drive, it is a solid choice if you are looking for classic comfort food served with a smile.
