The meal was $13, mostly rice, the meat was dry and there was absolutely no flavor. I’m glad I asked for gravy over my rice because the rice was good…the pernil, not so much. I thought I’d give this location a try but I’ll pass by them all in the future.
Solid Dominican food in Harlem. I actually discovered El Valle from doing delivery pick-ups—so many people order from here, I had to try it myself. The food is consistently good, the portions are fair for the price, and it’s one of the only Spanish spots in this part of Harlem that I can count on. It’s not fancy and sometimes they miss, but when they’re on point, it really hits the spot. Definitely a neighborhood go-to.
Lady charged me extra $3 for one piece of meat. The plate is 90% rice and 10% meat. Skip this spot, walk 5 mins any direction, and chances are they respect your money more. Trust me, I live right around the corner. They definitely treat spanish speakers more preferably.
