recently visited Elsa Chicharrón in the Heights, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The yuca frita was quite unappetizing, and I had to ask for it to be removed from my plate, which clearly upset the lady at the counter. To make matters worse, the quality of the chicharrón has really declined—it was served super cold and was all fat with no meat, yet I still paid $14 for a single piece. Even the lime provided had no juice. Overall, I wasn't happy with the food quality or
If you want original Dominican Chicharrones look no more, this is your place, they have 2 lations in Manhattan and 1 in the Bronx. I always do takeout
The chicharrones were so good!!! My friend and I ordered rice, yucca and chicharrones. We spent about $22 and had leftovers. (Not the chicharrones 😆 that was too good!) Everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was so good. I love chicharrones with the meat on it. So many places only have the fat part, you get it all here!! Definitely recommend and will go back next time I'm in NY.
