One of the bagel shops & delis I heard so much about, that I knew I just had to come here for breakfast during my vacation in the city. We shared two bagels - the first one was an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese. The cream cheese was absolutely out of this world, rich in flavor but still not too heavy, and the onion bagel was the perfect combination with it. Very disappointing experience at Ess-a-Bagel. We ordered two bagels and were already underwhelmed by the quality of the bagels themselves—they simply didn't taste very good. We were willing to overlook that, but what was completely unacceptable was the avocado. In both bagels, the avocado was black and clearly overripe. This should never have been served to customers. For a place with such a strong reputation, I expected much better quality control and fresher ingredients. Serving visibly spoile
i had the signature favorite and it was hands down the best bagel i’ve ever had. i still think about those bagels to this day and can’t wait to go back to nyc to eat them again! also, the service was great, with all the staffs being very friendly. honestly i loved everything about this place. would definitely revisit for the signature favorite bagel and other menus i’d love to try
