I’ve been visiting this restaurant for 19 years, ever since I was young. I always loved the food and service Fontana provided, which is why I would continue to visit after so much time. Whomever had cut a hole into the deteriorating plastic lid did so in a way that large and small bits of plastic ended up
Classic Greek diner vibes but the food is better than most high end Greek restaurants. Saganaki? One of the best I’ve ever had — tops some of my favorite spots in Greece. Avgolemono? Not even fair to compare to other spots, only Louie’s in Manhasset comes close to this level. The gyro? THEY IMPROVED IT! Meat was tender and perfectly cooked, no burnt bits, humongous scoop of tzatziki, no lettuce (thank God), and then we got a pizza too which just hit so hard, incredible. And good prices too.
Excellent grilled chicken Greek salad. On the pricier side. Went with a large and it came out to 27 w tax. Enough to share for two people. Chicken was very tasty and grilled perfectly. The salad was robust, generous portion of grape leaves, delicious olives, fresh green peppers, thick banana peppers , large chunks of cheese , gererous with the tzatziki sauce, was chunky. Pita yummy. All around a great experience.
