Casual eatery specializing in dumplings and buns, as well as noodle soups and other Chinese classics.
From Google Maps reviews.
They have a small menu but the 3 items I ordered taste super good. Bun is very juicy. The fish meat skinned wonton (Yan wan) is very delicate in favor. The baked bun with bamboo roots flavored with red yeast sauce is very flavorful. Red yeast sauce is a culinary tradition among Hokkien people. Price is super affordable. They optimized everything.
This place is a hidden gem. Tucked away inside the abandoned 'East Broadway Mall', this spot serves some of the most underrated buns and dumplings. Their steamed buns are soft, and the filling is meaty and juicy similar to soup dumplings. The steamed dumplings were equally delicious, with perfectly thin wrappers. FYI The mall itself has an abandoned feel that might seem sketchy to some, so you might want to bring a friend for the first visit. However, the food is absolutely worth it
Dumplings as their signature product was very juicy and flavorful. Bamboo shoot cake taste good as well. The place was hidden underground so it was hard to find, but the quality and quantity of the food far exceeded my expectations. They have seats next to the counter for dining and I would recommend to have it when it's hot to best enjoy the umami flavor.
