First time trying gelato from this place after seeing the reviews and the pic of how legit their gelatos inside the covered containers. I tried the stracciatella. First time I tried this flavor abroad and the taste similar to the first time I tried. Service was good. The place was pretty clean. Seatings limited inside but there were some seatings outside. This place was more like a buy it and go.
After dinner we decided to try something different and stopped into Gelateria Gentile - Nolita for dessert. We have been making a point lately of hitting dedicated dessert spots rather than just ordering something off the restaurant menu, and this place reminded us exactly why. I went with the Crema Antica, a vanilla cream with just a slight hint of lime. It was really good. That little citrus note against the cream was subtle but it worked perfectly. While the gelato and customer service were 5 stars, the store itself is super hot. I don’t know if the AC was broken but it was very uncomfortable being inside, especially when the weather today was over 90 degrees and didn’t make me want to come back. I feel so bad for the employees who have to stay in that sauna for the whole day :(
