I’m very pleased with the inventive new menu at Gen! The smaller dishes — you could call them Japanese tapas — are creative and delicious. The Mini Ochazuke bowl features small pieces of sushi fish over rice and is a great value. The Crab Bomber is a delightful pairing of warm, crunchy rice and the rich taste of crab. They are extremely slow. I ordered through DoorDash, and it seemed like they had received the order well in advance; however, when I arrived to pick it up, it wasn't ready yet. It didn't even look like they were busy there were only two tables seated, and that was it. The place had only two occupied tables—you could practically call it half empty yet I waited nearly 55 minutes for my order. It was terrible.
