We came after the lunch rush and ordered the sesame chicken and chicken fried rice. The sesame was juicy and sweet in a way that was just what the palate ordered.
Really enjoyed this Chelsea staple, but a spot that hasn't lost its sparkle. This is very good Sichuan food. Not the best you will ever have, but still very good. Loads of authenticity in the menu, with fish taking a prominent place amongst a lot of options. They also have all your standard US-Cantonese American dishes. Our selections were a Spicy Fish with Bean Curd Flower, sauteed Pea Shoots with Garlic, and Pumpkin with Scallions and Ginger.
Grand Sichuan is an ideal place for enjoying meals before attending Joyce Theater performances. It's quiet and spacious, with extensive menu selections. Price is reasonable and the services are warm. Serves many delicious vegetarian dishes.
