A visit to High Bar New York is, first and foremost, about the setting. The view is genuinely fantastic and sets the tone the moment you walk in. The outdoor space was closed due to the negative degree weather, which was disappointing, but the interior still carried the experience. Inside, it feels more like a lounge than a traditional bar, with sofas, multiple TVs, layered ambient lighting, and a large flatscreen beside the bar that gives the space a relaxed but polished atmosphere. Absolutely disgusting place. The view is nice, but that is about it. Our terrible experience started with a hair in my drink, which was mediocre even after it was replaced. As for the food, the tuna wasn’t fresh and had a funky smell and taste, we barely touched it. The cesar salad was good, but took over 40 minutes to arrive… finally, it took me about 10 minutes to catch the waiter’s attention for the bill, as he was sitting right in front of me playing on his phone.
