The Carlyle Hotel can be summed up in two words: Class and Hospitality! From top to bottom and from front to back of house everyone was genuinely kind and happy to help. The staff was welcoming and treated our 4 year old like a king, showering him with prizes, little gifts, high fives and plenty of smiles! What an amazing experience! We wanted to experience a nice cocktail at the Bemelmans bar and we happened to arrive on an evening where they had artists in residence, and the bar was closed to patrons not staying in the hotel. However, Dante was amazing! Not only did he take the time to explain the circumstances, but gave us a brief history of the hotel, the hand painting by author , Ludwig Bemelman. I stayed at The Carlyle for a recent gala. First class service started the second you walk up to those revolving doors. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The moment you hit the lobby, the honeysuckle scent hits you like a wave of calmness. Checking in was very easy. I had booked a standard room, but it felt nothing like a basic room.
