My brutha told me about this spot near 138th and the Bruckner Blvd that has good smoked foods. He's practically a meat connoisseur so I was curious to see what this place was about. The inside definitely gives me cozy, barbecue house vibes; the wooden furniture and bar was a nice touch. Kinda like how you would order at a fast food spot, you go up to the counter and order what you want and a waiter/waitress will bring you your order. I recently stopped by Hudson Smokehouse in the Bronx and ordered the brisket, turkey, mac & cheese, and baked beans. The brisket was the standout: tender, properly smoked, and sliced thick enough to hold its structure without drying out. It had a deep, smoky flavor without being overpowered by sauce. The smoked turkey was equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and a great lighter counterpoint to the brisket. On the sides, the mac & cheese was rich and comforting with a solid balance of cream
You will love this place. I thought I might not like ordering at the counter but our meal was at out table before I had a chance to take off my coat. Everything was very good moist and flavorful. Our drinks also arrived in a timely fashion and we had a great time it's a 10 outta 10 from me. Couldn't take a picture of the food because it was gone that fast.
