Five of us stopped by the Icy Melon after a great lunch at a Chinese DIMSUM restaurant nearby. We ordered 3 different deserts and shared them. We were the only people eating in but I noticed that most people bought and ate on the street. Only limited seating but no problem. All very clean and good service. Stumbled upon this place while walking. After ordering our drinks, we proceeded to walk towards a table. The cashier stopped us and told us that our order was to go, that we could sit in the front but they need the open tables. There were no other customers waiting. No one asked us if our order was to go or to stay when we ordered. Rude. We could have sat on one of the many open and available tables. We sat at the stools in the front. Despite the charming look, this place has poor service and deceptive business practices. There is no cash only sign displayed anywhere in store and we were presented with a rug pull on checkout. Dessert was very expensive and mediocre tasting, but more than that the service was rude and unwelcoming.
