i used to visit jc all the time when they were in soho and every now and then i crave the skate dish. im pretty sure theyve changed chefs since then because the tomatoes are usually bigger and charred which would have been better with the couscous and the dressing. the skate itself was still good but it was a culmination of all the ingredients in one bite that made this dish live rent free in my head. my bf had the filet mignon special on this saturday. it was cooked perfectly for him. medium bu
We went again for dinner the other day. Four of us. Greeted very nicely at the door and got a nice table inside. We ordered several appetizers including beat salad, shrimp salad and two mains salmon and steak frittes all were good but the steak was a little tough. Portions were quite large. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee was $35.00. Service was very nice and there was a lively crowd but a little noisy due to the people at the table next to us. If you’re over in Midtown East, this French Bisto is a good option. Good service, moderately priced menu, and tasty food. The salmon and steak dishes we had we tasty and did not disappoint.
