Coming from Vancouver, my expectations for Chinese food are high... but this 40+ year-old legacy spot completely stole my heart. First stop on the New York Chinatown crawl was Kam Hing. Family-owned since 1984, they are famous for their viral sponge cakes--but it's the family itself and their genuine warmth that makes this place so special. A long-established cake shop in New York's Chinatown recommended by Xiaohongshu. The individual items are relatively simple. Coffee, milk tea, cake No other items I personally prefer the original flavor of paper-wrapped cakes. I heard this is the original store. The other stores only sell replicas.
