Being a Vietnamese who lives in a city where Vietnamese food is not great, I make it a point to seek Vietnamese restaurants on my travel. I am exceedingly pleased to find this joint in New York and visited twice in two days. Comfortable space, authentic taste, and friendly staff. Hủ tiếu Nam Vang and bánh canh cua are both excellent with full toppings. Hủ tiếu comes with thin slices of pork, liver and heart, two giant shrimps, and a quail egg, sprinkled with ground pork and chives. Bánh canh cua
Came across Kitchen Cô Út for lunch while in NYC and had a pretty solid experience overall. We ordered the Bún Mắm and Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm. Portions were generous, and the bún mắm came with a great variety of toppings. The flavors were quite authentic, especially if you’re familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. It’s the kind of place that gives you a taste of home-style dishes. Service was a bit on the quieter side — not particularly warm, but everything was handled efficiently, so it didn’t take away
I love this restaurant but was a little disappointed by the portion of meat and veggies.. I got the bun thit nuong cha gio (#19) and only received a few slices of the lemongrass pork and small handful of lettuce.. the rest of the bowl was mostly filled with noodles. The flavors are so good but wish the portions were a bit bigger!
