Kona coffees shop is a bright, modern styled coffee shop near Grand Central Station and worth a detour to visit. Friendly and helpful baristas make the visit enjoyable. I had the Americano with a Kona shot and a blueberry scone. The Kona profile and flavors come through the americano - I was doubtful, but proven wrong. My second time giving a try trying, and I think the barista at this location is slightly more skilled. Hawaiian latte I got was creamy. The flavored syrup did do the job but a little bit stealing the taste of coffee. 🍵💚Matcha pound cake was amazing. It was moist, not too dry and not too oily. Matcha flavor stood out in the balanced flavor between sweetness and bitterness.
A really good coffee shop that has quite of a Japanese feel to it. We came here just before their closing time, but the staff was still very kind and patient, which I found highly appreciated. My husband had a double espresso shot, and I had a strawberry matcha from their seasonal menu. The matcha was absolutely amazing, not too sweet and still had a significant matcha flavor, along with the strawberry puree it was a heavenly combination.
