Absolutely love love love La Bella Ferrara. I bring everyone here. My husband and I started coming to La Bella Ferrara from the very beginning of our tri-annual vacation to Manhattan. We have brought our children and every one of their friends. I recommend it to everyone that knows to ask me for food recommendations on the island. Absolutely wonderful place. Heard from others in my group that the bakery desserts are superb. The ice cream is all made in-house and it absolutely shows. They allowed for 2 samples. I got a strawberry pistachio milkshake and it was the BEST milkshake I have EVER had.
The Italian Rum Cake was absolutely delicious and a gorgeous creation. The ladies in the shoppe were also wonderfully professional and welcoming (odd thing in New York given the lack of courteous individuals and severe absence of work ethic). It's a small shoppe but their commitment to excellence is huge!! This cake made it all the way from New Yuk to Dallas on a cooler road trip that lasted 48 hours and was absolutely delicious; it was a Christmas cake for my Mom.
