Out of all the open places on the 24th of December in Little Italy, we stumbled upon this restaurant because of its name. Seeing the videos of Nonna, meaning grandma in English, enticed us to try for the first time to celebrate Christmas, and it did not disappoint. I am not usually a fan of Italian dishes because they’re too heavy for me, but the food was terrific! Even my friends from Texas were happy we dined in there. Service - amazing! This place offers Italian food in Little Italy main street. The atmosphere is Italian (although most of the waiters were not Italians). The service is really good. You need to know what to order, the ravioli Alfredo was amazing. Handmade with great sause. The Bolognese sauce was ok but not very special as you would expect from Italians. The Pizza was tasty and I would expect the caprese salad to be better.
I recently visited La Nonna in Little Italy and was somewhat disappointed with the experience. While the atmosphere and location are charming, the food did not live up to expectations.
