Haven't been to the LaoJie for a while but I don't remember not enjoying my meal at all. Don't get me wrong the service is great but the food was not good. Came by an hour before they close on a Friday night, for the just hot pot AYCE. I ordered the mushroom broth and I didn't like it, it tasted more like msg and you see the mushroom in it. Their beef had a weird taste. The rest of the adds on was okay, but because the meat, it kind of ruin the appetite. I don't think I will return to this locat
The overall quality of food was very questionable. The corn we got seemed spoiled. The skewers (which were not bbqed like advertised but deepfried) were blend, barely topped with garlic, no cummin, no chili, which are the base spices for chinese skewers. On top of a questionable service (we had to ask couples times for water refill or napkin), the waitress ended up puking in a bucket next to our table (which they didn't clean up afterward).
