An iconic venue in Lincoln Center that’s the primary home of the New York Philharmonic. Had the pleasure of stopping by a couple days ago for the rockstar St. Vincent who performed with the full orchestra. Even though they were seemingly from two totally different worlds, the performance worked incredibly well, proving the orchestra is for everyone. Great job team and thank you for continuing to be part of what makes NYC so great 🙏🏽
Beautiful venue with great stage views from anywhere in the space. Beware of sitting in the front row of the balcony though. It is extremely narrow and the guardrail very short, shockingly so - be careful!
First tier seats at David Geffen Hall for a New York Philharmonic program under Gustavo Dudamel. The hall was running warm and the bar queue at intermission required commitment. The music made it easy to forgive. Dudamel opened with the Eroica. The Philharmonic followed him somewhere electric. Then Rzewski’s The People United Will Never Be Defeated escalated from intimate to overwhelming. By the end I had feelings I had not pre-approved. Left slightly altered. Apparently that’s the point.
